Him: There you are, I’ve been waiting for you to show up.
Her: Me? Do I know you?
Him: Nope. I just saw you about 30 seconds ago, actually now about 40 and counting.
Her: But you said you were waiting for me.
Him: I did. My whole life actually.
Her: What are you talking about?
Him: You’re the woman I’m going to marry. I’ve been waiting for years now, but alas you’re here.
Her: Marry? I don’t know what kind of world you live in, but I don’t believe in love at first sight.
Him: Well, I do. And it’s okay if you don’t because I figured you wouldn’t. I mean I know it’s far-fetched for me to think I’d find you and it would be an instant connection.
Her: So, you think I’m “The One” for you?
Him: Yes. They always say that when you know, you know. Well, I now know. It’s you.
Her: That’s nice of you to think that, but I just don’t believe in any of that. At least not since a while ago.
Him: I get it. And listen, if you want to walk away from me right now I’d totally get it, but I wouldn’t be broken up about it because I know that you’re the one I’m suppose to marry and so we’ll meet again if you do leave.
Her: You’re an interesting guy you know that? I mean you’re saying I’m “The One” but would let me walk away not really knowing whether you’d see me ever again. That’s pretty risky.
Him: It is. Then again, it’s not in my mind because I know we’d see each other again.
Her: How?
Him: I come here every week and based on that keychain, you do too.
Her: Observant. I like that. Well, if I’m the one you’re going to marry, then how will it go down that we fall in love?
Him: We’ll go out this Saturday. Have dinner. Enjoy a pleasant conversation and some laughs. I’ll ask you to do it again, you’ll say yes, and we’d be off to the races, as they say.
Her: “They” say a lot, don’t they?
Him: Sure do.
Her: Well, I guess I have no choice but to say yes then, after all, who am I to get in the way of destiny?
Him: It’s not the destiny that’s making you agree to go out with me, it’s the journey ahead because you still believe in love at first sight. I can tell. It’s what we all have in common. It’s what makes us, us.
