Truth of Life

A beating heart, a soul in pursuit

keeping us alive, trying to find its pieces.

A wandering mind, a body in pain

thinking about the future, from all the trials.

It’s the truth, the truth of life.

A memory fading, a temper jaded

into obscurity, by all the troubles.

A history rewritten, a love reborn

can’t exist, if it does, usually doesn’t last long.

It’s the truth, the truth of life.

Integrity tested, hope being lost

by the pitfalls of life, through cruelty’s wins

Honor not around, courage thrown out

to stop heinous acts, in favor of greediness.

It’s the truth, the truth of life.
